Professional Development Workshop

Take a leap in your ballet journey with Six Dance Collective’s Professional Development Day.  Designed for passionate dancers of ballet at Grade 5 or Intermediate Foundation level and above, this afternoon intensive offers the opportunity to delve into the world of Vaganova-style Technique and learning a solo from a renowned classical ballet. Under the guidance of SDC's Artistic Director, choreographer and classical dancer Ruaidhrí Maguire, highlights of the day will include:

• A Vaganova-based Technique class, renowned in the world's most prestigious ballet schools and companies.
• Learning and mastering a variation from one of the cornerstones of classical ballet repertoire: the captivating Cupid variation from Don Quixote for ladies, and the distinguished Albrecht variation from Giselle for gentlemen.
• Focused coaching in small groups, allowing for individualized attention to enhance your technique and performance skills.
• An opportunity to connect with like-minded dancers from other schools

About your workshop leader

The workshop is led by Ruaidhrí Maguire, SDC's Artistic Director and choreographer of White Doves.  Ruaidhrí is the youngest male principal dancer at Baltic Opera Ballet and has performed principal roles in ballets such as Giselle, Don Quixote, and Cinderella. He is passionate about progressing the future of ballet in N. Ireland and Ireland. He led Professional Ballet Lab 2021 and 2022 and  coaches one-on-one and is proud to have students progress to vocational schools.

Who is it for?

Ages 12-21* 

All genders

Dancers of ballet Grade 5 or Intermediate Foundation level and above (no exam needed)

*if the dancer is below age 12 and is of standard, please contact us to discuss.
