Belfast Summer Dance week for returns to the MAC this August

Booking has opened for Six Dance Collective's 5-day Summer Dance Lab in central Belfast.

Returning for 2025, Six Dance Collective’s Summer Dance Lab is back at The MAC for five days of dance in central Belfast from Monday 11th - Friday 15th August 2025.

Back by popular demand, this intensive week welcomes dancers aged 11–22 for a dynamic programme focused on ballet, contemporary dance, and strength and conditioning.

Led by five established professional dancers and choreographers working across the UK and Europe, the Summer Dance Lab offers high-quality training in Belfast for dancers from across Ireland. With a focus on technique, creativity, and confidence-building, participants will learn directly from approachable, reputable artists who bring current industry insight and a passion for teaching.

Junior Dancers aged 11+ will experience ballet and contemporary dance training.

Summer Dance Lab will run across two studios, divided into Junior and Senior groups to support different age ranges and experience levels:

The Junior Group will enjoy a fun and high-energy week designed to build confidence and develop technique. Ballet training will focus on summery solos from iconic classical roles, helping dancers grow in storytelling and characterisation. In contemporary dance, they’ll explore floorwork and travelling phrases in a supportive and creative environment.

The Senior Group, tailored for more experienced dancers, will work at a faster pace, receiving coaching in classical ballet repertoire and gaining insight into modern ballet choreography often seen in professional auditions and productions. Contemporary dance sessions will explore physicality, intention, and embodying different choreographic styles.

New for 2025, the week will culminate in a relaxed informal showing for family and friends, giving dancers the opportunity to share their hard work and celebrate their progress.
