Upcoming: 'The View from Mars' in association with Ballet Ireland

Six Dance Collective

Six Dance Collective is proud to announce that upcoming production The View from Mars is produced in association with Ballet Ireland. Marking the return of local dance to Belfast's Lyric Theatre after eight years, the one-act dance performance runs from 20-22 February 2025. The production brings together new choreography, music and visuals to tell the story of a lone traveller hurtling through space.

Under the Artistic Directorship of Anne Maher, Ballet Ireland is proud to be the driving force of ballet in Ireland. Ballet Ireland is committed to producing works that entertain and stir audiences, that shatter preconceived notions of classical ballet and dance, and that are accessible to everyone. Ballet Ireland is dedicated to collaborating with artists who foster innovation and embrace bold ideas that unlock the limitless potential of dance. In every aspect of public engagement, Ballet Ireland strives for excellence and inclusion.

This production also sees Ballet Ireland artists at its core. Ruaidhrí Maguire, Artistic Director of Six Dance Collective and a current Ballet Ireland company member, choreographs the work. Dancing his choreography is Dominic Harrison, who has performed with Ballet Ireland since 2013 and recently served as the company’s rehearsal director.

SDC is proud to further its mission of bringing Northern Ireland audiences the adventurous artform of dance. This collaboration aligns with Ballet Ireland’s well-established and celebrated presence in dance across the island, strengthening opportunities for artists and audiences alike.

The View from Mars runs from 20-22 February 2024 in the Naughton Studio at The Lyric Theatre, Belfast. Tickets from £15 are available now.
